Governor Murphy issued an absolute veto on NJBA opposed S2363/A3921 (Greenstein/Benson), which would have authorized rent suspensions for small business tenants who have been economically distressed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On May 13, Governor Murphy announced that all non-essential construction which was halted as a result of Executive Order (EO) 122 will be permitted to resume starting Monday, May 18, at 6:00 am. Governor Murphy subsequently signed EO 142 which outlines the requirements for all construction projects and also non-essential businesses.
